What Suno does
Suno creates songs from a description or lyrics and provides extensions, covers, editing, stem separation, audio uploads, voices, and a Studio workspace on eligible plans.
Suno compresses composition, performance, and production into a prompt-driven workflow. A user can describe genre, mood, instrumentation, vocal character, structure, and lyrical subject—or supply lyrics—and receive finished song candidates. Audio uploads, personas, extensions, covers, section replacement, added vocals or instrumentals, stems, and custom models provide progressively more control.
The Free plan supplies 50 credits daily, uses the v4.5-all model, and is restricted to non-commercial use. Pro is displayed at $8 per month with annual billing and includes 2,500 monthly credits, advanced models and editing, commercial rights for new songs, and longer uploads. Premier is $24 per month annually with 10,000 credits and Suno Studio. Included credits do not roll over.
Commercial rights require careful wording. Suno grants eligible paid users rights for new songs made while subscribed, but upgrading does not normally make earlier free-plan songs commercial. Permission to monetize also does not guarantee copyright protection, exclusivity, trademark clearance, or acceptance by every distributor. Avoid unauthorized voice imitation and artist-name prompting, document creation dates, review lyrics, and obtain legal advice for valuable releases.
How Suno works
Suno interprets lyrics or a musical brief, generates a complete audio candidate with composition, arrangement, vocals, and production, then lets eligible users extend, cover, edit sections, separate stems, or continue work in Studio.
Describe an original song
Define mood, tempo, instrumentation, structure, vocal qualities, language, and lyrical theme without requesting imitation of a living artist or unauthorized voice. Supply original lyrics or use Suno’s lyric generation deliberately.
Generate complete candidates
The selected model synthesizes composition, arrangement, performance, vocals, and production into audio candidates. Model access, queue priority, concurrency, and credit allowance depend on the Free, Pro, or Premier plan.
Edit the strongest direction
Compare melody, lyrics, structure, diction, artifacts, and emotional fit. Eligible tools can extend or cover a song, replace sections, add vocals or instruments, upload audio, separate stems, build a custom model, or continue in Suno Studio.
Document and finish the release
Confirm the song was created under the required commercial plan, then review lyrics, voices, similarity, samples, copyright uncertainty, distributor rules, and metadata. Finish stems and mastering externally when exact production control matters.
